Maureen Farr – ad hound, newshound, copy girl, designer, distributor and web queen – has been producing Arts Guide for 10-plus years. Although it’s primarily a solo venture, she welcomes input, advice, and the occasional helping hand. Kvetching, whinging, and general grumping is discouraged, although constructive criticism (and high praise!) are always welcome.
The first edition of Arts Guide was published in the summer of 2000. It was a huge leap of faith on the part of those early advertisers – most of whom knew Maureen from her years as editor of Preview! Magazine, a summer-only weekly guide to the arts. From the start, Arts Guide was a success, and over the past eleven years it has grown in size and improved in content.
Summer 2009 – our 10th year – saw the launch of the online Arts Guide version. The online version allows weekly updates to the calendar of events, as well as providing opportunities for advertisers who may have missed the print deadline to still be connected to our loyal readers.
